Which cars use the M178 engine?

Is the M178 the same as the M177?
They share the same 4.0L twin-turbo V8 design, but the M178 is the version built for the AMG GT sports cars, with dry-sump lubrication. Intakes, downpipes and other parts are different, so always buy by engine code and model.
Do you make a cold air intake for the AMG GT R?
Yes. Our Gen-2 cold air intake is available for the AMG GT R, GT C, GT S and GT (190). On stock vehicles our intakes have shown 8 to 30+ hp gains.
Do M178 upgrades need a tune?
Cold air intakes and FTA adapters are plug and play and need no tune. Wide open thermostats need no tune either, but should be installed by an experienced mechanic. Catless downpipes need a tune to remove the check engine light.
