Mercedes 722.9 and 725.0 performance clutch kits

BlackBoost performance clutch kits rebuild or upgrade Mercedes-AMG automatic transmissions to handle much higher torque. Our clutch compound has a higher coefficient of friction than OEM and resists higher temperatures, and has been tested on BlackBoost setups making over 1450 Nm at the wheels.

The 722.9 kit covers the 7-speed 722.9 transmission used across many Mercedes and AMG models, including the C63, E63, CLS63, S63, ML63, GL63 and G63. The 725.0 kit has 64 discs for the 9-speed 725.0 transmission.

These kits must be installed by a professional transmission technician, and a TCU tune is needed to raise clutch pressure for high torque.

Which cars use the 722.9 transmission?

The 722.9 7-speed is fitted to a wide range of Mercedes models from 2004 to 2018, including the C63, E63, CLS63, S63, SL63, ML63, GL63, G63 and E550. The full list is on the 722.9 clutch kit page.

Do I need a TCU tune with a BlackBoost clutch kit?

Yes. To handle high torque, the TCU must be tuned to change limiters and raise clutch pressure. A TCU tune is mandatory for the 725.0 kit.

What is included in the clutch kit?

All the clutch elements needed for the transmission. OEM seals, gaskets, the transmission filter and oil are not included.

Who should install it?

A professional transmission technician or certified Mercedes mechanic with the Xentry diagnostic tool. TCU adaptation values must be in range to avoid clutch slippage.

Is there a warranty on transmission parts?

No. Transmission clutch kits are not covered by warranty or guarantee, refunds are not possible, and installation is the buyer's responsibility.
